Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is a chronic autoimmune disease affecting approximately 11 million people in the United States, including both pediatric and adult patients. Despite advances in disease management, there are no therapies that address the underlying immune drivers of disease progression.
BRZ-101 is a novel HNP-mRNA immune modulation therapy designed to induce antigen-specific immune tolerance in Type 1 Diabetes. The therapy delivers autoantigens along with tolergenic co-factors to antigen-presenting cells. BRZ-101 is designed to “re-educate” the immune system with a targeted approach. Only the aberrant immune response is blocked while normal immune function is reserved. This strategy aims for durable disease modification without compromising the body’s ability to fight infections or malignancies.
